that they were full of holes
of all sizes. It seemed as
if they would be almost useless
as sails but picturesque if
one could get a snapshot.
but the weather is too dark
and cloudy to make very
successful pictures.
It is after six o’clock and many
of the steamships and steamers
anchored in the bay have their
lights on – It is a beautiful
sight to see the lights twinkle
across the placid waters of the
bay – After dinner we spent
nearly all the evening on
deck watching the myriad
lights of the City – The most
beautiful we have ever seen
They extended along the horizon
and up the mountain side
almost entirely around the
whole horizon.
