in sight of land all day –
passing numerous volcanic
islands – many ??? high
up the rocky sides of the moun-
tains and tiny villages
nestling close to the water –
Many sailing vessels in sight
and tiny sampans??? – with an
occasional steamer starting
on its return??? journey toward
our home land –

The steamers course crooked as
it threads its way toward
China – On both sides of the
narrows in ??? sized turns
close to the waters edge –
Occasionally a light house
on a rocky ???
the twinkling lights were on
on the shore as the beautiful
(suggest a change)
