Still cold and windy
took a bus to the shopping
district. Father visited motor
car Agency. Then went to
American Express Co. to ask
for mail. There was none –
Stopped for lunch then
returned to underground
railroad to hotel.
Went down three long flights
of stairs  two were escalators
to the trains. Changed at
Charing Cross station for
Victoria Station near the
hotel. Then rested before
dinner. Sun shining but
a wintry wind that fills
ones eyes with dust.
Such a dirty city.
