comfortable carts with huge
wheels and rubber??? tires to
visit a Buddhist temple –
The grounds there seemed to
be occupied with a bazaar –
held by poor people showing
their wares for sale – Many
of the women and girls laden
with fat??? heavy babies on their
backs beneath their coats –
Returning we dismissed our
rickshaw men to shop and
return to the steamer as we
desired – It is all a quaint
fascinating place – many of
the girls and women are
beautiful of face – but wear???
their hair ??? in a most
grotesque fashion.
We walked to the steamer in
time for dinner and rested
a while – The whole day
