and arrived at the station at
venice at 6.45 P.M.
The scenery after leaving
Florence gradually became
mountainous – until we
climbed high on the side of
the mountains. Then after
leaving the crest we came
down on a broad valley
very fertile??? and highly
cultivated – showing some
green and a month later
will be beautiful.
We were met at the station
by a gondolier with his boat
and he took us to our hotel
“The Bristol Britannia”
arriving in about 35 minutes
and entering the dining room
we found our friends Mr+ Ms.
Paul Henry Sherwin of Boston
Mass. who had been expecting us.
