We have been told that most
of the new passengers will
leave us at Hong Kong –
A part of the Chinese at
least are going to Mecca
to worship at the shrine
of Buddha there –
A quiet day on board
played bridge in the morning with Mr. + Mrs.
G.A. Firestone –
Retired at 11P.M.

A couple of things caught my eye here:
“Could make no snapshots”??? Were they taking photos along the way? Where are these photos???
Also, I found it interesting that she said there were passengers going to Mecca to worship at a shrine of Buddha. That seems wrong. Maybe it doesn’t say Mecca. Maybe she was mistaken about what they were worshiping. Or maybe there was a shrine to Buddha in Mecca. I’ll need to do some research there.
Also, no real mention of the smallpox vaccine. Just that they got it.
