Tuesday Jan. 22″-
Arose early as we are to take
the 9 A.M. launch for the
city to meet our friends who
spent the night at the “Astor
Hotel” – Arrived there at 9.45
A.M. – while waiting for the
Firestones we went to the Jade
Shop to get more beads ordered
last night + to have a clasp
changed. The weather is
very wet and bitter cold
with a strong wind from the
river.
Return to the hotel to write
cards until lunch time.
then we go to the American
Women’s Club by invitation of
Dr. Fearn – to luncheon
Dismissed our “rickshaw” and
went by elevator to the fourth
floor where we entered a very large
room fitted up as a Club room
for women – Electric heaters and
a small fire place furnished the
(suggest a change)
