After lunch will be ready to go
ashore. The harbor ??? is
interesting with manufacturing
plants running full blast.
Looks like America from the
steamer. Docked about noon
after inspection and quarantine
After lunch went ashore a
party of eight. Mr. + Mrs. Firestone
and the former’s mother Mrs.
Firestone – Dr. Firestone an
uncle + Mr. Evens??? all of the
same party – and in addition
Mrs. Winkler??? and Geo. and I –
Soon after leaving the steamer
we each entered a ginrickshaw
and started toward town we
were all trotting along and
keeping together so as not to
separate the party – soon we
arrived at the money exchange
(suggest a change)
