to the end of the line near the
mountains; returning at 4.30
and boarding the steamer and
sailing at 5.P.M.
The deck rails at the stern were
occupied by seventeen of the
diving boys who were much
interested in the music.

As the steamer backed out from
the pier – most of them climbed
to the upper deck from where
later they dived gracefully
to the water below and called
for money to be thrown toward
them in the water. They rarely
missed a coin in their dive for it.

After dinner and the beautiful
sunset. Played bridge with
the bride and groom. Mr. + Mrs.
Firestone – Retired early as we
were very tired. Honolulu is as
beautiful as ever. Bought papia [Papaya?] there

    I’m relatively certain that last missing word is Papia, but I’m not sure what that is. Papaya?
