Florence Italy –
Monday Mar. 11″
The weather has moderated
and the day promises to be
bright. After breakfast took
a walk over the bridge across
the river Arno in front of the
hotel. Florence is a small
place and in a few moments
we were in the shopping district.
Stopping frequently to enter
the shops – In one window
we saw some beautiful leather
handbags – we entered and
were much interested – as the
owner of this shop is a manu-
facturer of leather goods + goes
to America each year. Sells
to the large stores in New York.
Marshall Field Chicago.
Bullocks Los Angeles and a
store in San Francisco.

We have to speculate here, but it’s fair to assume that Guccio Gucci was present in this, his flagship store, and it’s entirely possible that he presented his card to her personally on her visit, while informing her about his dealings in the US stores.
So far, no one in the family has any idea what happened to the bag, but if we can track it down we’ll add a picture here.
