Tuesday. Mar 5
Arose early and had breakfast.
Then with Rev. + Mrs. Taylor
and a guide left for a
days motor trip to Pompeii
“The Resurrected City” as it is
called. Arriving in due time
we ladies sat in two chairs
with long rods at the sides
and were carried by two
men each for nearly two
hours through the excavated.

deserted streets were much
worn by the chariot wheels
of old – The mosaics were

former homes. The mural
paintings in some places
