and a guide took a long
motor ride through the
favorite summer Resorts of
the Patricians of Ancient Rome.
Stopped at the Solfatara in
little Vesuvius where we found
much to interest us – the boiling
mud – the steam + sulphur
emanating from the ground.
The we visited the Amphitheater
built by Nero. Much like
the coliseum of Rome.
Here Christians were destroyed
by wild animals caught in
Africa + caged for that pur-
pose. Gladiators were also
sacrificed by the beasts.
Saw many historical places of
interest – The seam baths of
Nero where steam is still
(suggest a change)
