As soon as our guide could
secure the camels our party started
Geo. was among the first to
mount – Mr. Seaholm??? and I
being about the last.
When the camel arises the sen-
sation is rather unpleasant.
but when he is once on his feet
it is not so bad.
Each camel has a dragoman
leading him. There was a
long procession of camels +
a few donkeys. our guide
riding one of the latter. He said
he was too fat to ride a camel.
We rode some distance up a
hill and then down suddenly.
The sand was deep so walking
for a man was hard.
The sun grew hot and soon
we were at the Pyramids.
The Sphinx being close by –
We dismounted and our guide
